Several Des Moines University osteopathic medical students from the Rural Medicine Educational Pathway program provided free blood pressure and BMI screenings at the state capitol on April 6th. As part of DMU Day on the Hill, students, faculty and President Angela Walker Franklin, PhD, visited the capitol to share the message that Iowa needs more healthcare professionals.
All of the students enjoyed chatting with Governor Terry Branstad, state legislators and capitol visitors about their commitment to practice in underserved areas of Iowa.
