2010 Spring Nursing Conference

Central Iowa AHEC is teaming with Broadlawns Medical Center to present the 2010 Spring Nursing Conference, a continuing education event for health professionals and students majoring in health professions. The conference will provide attendees with current practices on a variety of topics relevant to acute care and outpatient settings. Sessions will feature a variety of speakers who will discuss:

  • Medical malpractice issues relavant to nursing.
  • The relationship between substance abuse and mental health.
  • The mpact of parents' substance abuse on child development and practical guidelines for caring for substance-exposed children.
  • Health literacy and strategies to communicate more effectively with patients.

The Spring Nursing Conference will be held at Broadlawns Medical Center on Thursday, March 11th, from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Contact Central Iowa AHEC Clinical Outreach Coordinator Dena Sample for more information.
