Northeast Iowa AHEC to Sponsor 9th Annual Cardiovascular Update

The 9th Annual Cardiovascular Update is a continuing medical education event designed to increase the knowledge of healthcare professionals caring for cardiac patients. The symposium is presented by Allen Health System and the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation and features three guest speakers from Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, who will discuss:

  • The relationship between sleep-related breathing disorders and cardiovascular disease.
  • The importance of screening and diagnosing sleep disorders in patients who have a high risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular morbidity.
  • Treatment options available for these patients.
  • The impact of treatment of sleep-related disorders on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular morbidity and mortality.

The Cardiovascular Update will be held from 5:30–8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11th, at Park Place Event Centre in Cedar Falls.
